Obituary of Mary Anne Millson

Mary Anne Millson, RN (nee DeCou) A Life Well Lived and Loved Peacefully on Tuesday, October 20th. Mary Anne was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, oldest sister of nine and aunt. She was proudly dedicated and committed to her life’s work of nursing. Predeceased by her parents Anne and Jack DeCou, sister Jean DeCou and brothers Gery and Joe DeCou. Survived by her husband of 55 years Graham Millson, daughter Jennifer Millson Thompson, Son-in law Mike Thompson and the apple of her eye, granddaughter Emily. Also survived by sisters Alice DeCou and Colleen Jones (Joe), brothers Doug DeCou (Myrna), Ren DeCou (Kathy) and Paul DeCou (Margaret) as well as nieces and nephews: Jeff, Alicia, Aimee and Adam DeCou, Colleen Barnier and Yessica Monge. Sisters- in- law Ruth Clarkson, Marj Millson, Beth Millson and their families. Although nursing was her work Mary Anne loved to travel, attend the theatre, read the latest novels, garden, host pool parties and plan office and family celebrations. Her biggest thrill was driving her bright red IROC while blasting Bruce Springsteen songs. She was grateful to so many friends who sent kind words of love and inspiration during her two-year battle with cancer. We referred to them as her “fan club” which made her laugh. The family is grateful to the staff and volunteers at London’s Regional Cancer Centre and South West LHIN. Special appreciation to the staff and volunteers at St. Joseph’s Hospice who provided comfort and compassion during her final days. The Funeral mass will be private, due to Covid protocols. Mary Anne’s many friends and colleagues are invited to join us through a live stream feed on the Holy Family Parish You Tube Channel on Saturday, November 7th at 10:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life will be held when it is safe to do so. If you wish to donate in Mary Anne’s memory, please consider London Health Sciences Foundation and direct your gift to the Cancer Program or St. Joseph’s Hospice, London, Ontario.
