Obituary of Patricia Arlene Hatch (née Linfoot)
Our earth angel is now a heavenly angel. Patricia Hatch, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the same love she gave so freely throughout her life. If you had the gift of meeting her, you already know: she was special. One of a kind. The kind of person who made you feel like you mattered.
She had the most beautiful smile - one that lit up not just her face but the room, and often your heart too. Her warmth was real, not rehearsed. She didn't need to try to be kind. She simply was. Always. to everyone. She was the most genuine person in the world. She was the kind of person you felt better just being around. People who met her-even briefly-left changed. Because Patricia didn't just show love. She *was* love. Gentle, caring, forgiving, hardworking, and always thinking of others. There was no bitterness in her. No judgment. Only grace. She had a way of making you feel safe. Accepted. Important. She listened with her full heart, hugged with everything she had, and believed in you when you couldn't believe in yourself.
Her love didn't just make you feel good. It made you better. She often said:
"Love is the key. Be kind and good to all you meet. A smile goes a mile."
She didn't just say it. She lived it.
Pat grew up in the small town of Rockwood, Ontario-deeply loved by her parents, Lucy and Lorne Linfoot. Dear sister to Catherine and Lorna and cousin Donna. As a young woman, she worked as a Bell telephone operator, chosen for her beautiful speaking voice and kind manner. She later graduated as a dietician from MacDonald College, now part of the University of Guelph, a role that set the foundation for a lifetime of nurturing others in every sense of the word.
She married John Hatch, and together they raised six children with endless love and devotion. Waiting for her in heaven will be her first born son Peter. She is deeply missed by her children Liz, Pat (Charlie), John (Glennalee), Suzie (Keith), Joan (Mark), and Diana (Tom). She was a devoted and loving grandmother to Drew, Josh (Sara), Jared (Maggie), Holly (Jordan), Adam, (Diana), Ryan, Jillian, and Cole. Great grandmother to Olive, Naya, Elowyn, Addie, Logan and Carter. She also leaves behind her adored nephew and niece, Mark (Rick) and Jane (Olivia, Grace) who loved their Aunt Teekie with all their hearts.
She taught us how to live-with kindness, strength, laughter, humility, and grace.
She taught us how to forgive.
She taught us how to love deeply and unconditionally.
And now, somehow, we must learn how to let her go.
But we will carry her with us. In every smile. Every gentle act. Every time we choose kindness over judgment. Because that's what she gave us. And it lives on in us now.
She was love. And we are better because we knew her.
As per her wishes, Patricia will be cremated. A private memorial service will be held to celebrate her extraordinary life and enduring legacy of love. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the charity of your choice in her honour.
