My dearest Matty…it hurts my heart that you’re gone. You made every bad day better, and brought so much light to so many peoples lives. Over the 10+ years I’ve known you we have made so many memories that I will always cherish, as will my dad. Always laughing and smiling while in your company.
Rest in peace my friend, see you on the other side one day.
Love, Sophie and Alan xxxxx

Matt each time you saw me at the Dawg it was with a big smile and the warmest of greeting, whether you had seen me weeks or months ago or just the day before, it was alwys the same genuine lovely hello. You will be missed. Be at peace.

My Dear Matt.
I met you more than a decade ago when you were still just a young lad but I could see your brilliance and your pain.
You had strong opinions, drank far too much, carried with you burdens you didn’t speak too much about, yet were always kind, friendly, insightful and charming, in your own special way.
Even though I haven’t seen you since 2018 when I last visited London, we stayed in touch but never got that final time to have that beer together and catch-up.
I will always remember you. You were a rare voice and light, unapologetically yourself. And this world needs so much more of that.
I was editing a song on the day you passed that I hadn’t looked at in a while and it speaks to me the struggle you must have felt in those alone darker times. I saw you, appreciated you and hope it speaks to you on the other side.
Enjoy the better brighter side buddy!
Glimmers fade into night
Chasing shadows, losing sight
This silence screams, it's hard to bear
A heart so heavy, stripped and bare
Take my heart and take my pain
Let me die and live again
I want to feel
I want to feel
But I’ll rise from this despair
With every tear
I’ll find the air
I just want to feel
Wipe that smile off your face
Always stepping out of place
It’s not my way to tell you no
You stop my love when you go
I just want to f&$king feel.
Tell me I’m not wrong
Tell me this ain’t our song
To sing it to the very end
Don’t let me break just maybe bend
Until I can be free
Free of you and free of me
Free of the pain
And free to see
Free to feel
Take my heart and take my pain
Let me die and live again
I want to feel
I want to feel
But I’ll rise from this despair
With every tear
I’ll find the air
I just want to feel
I’ll no longer hide in the dark
I'll find my way, ignite the spark
I just want to feel
Feel my heart beat, let it heal
I’ll rise from this despair
With every tear
I’ll find the air
I will feel

We are so sad to hear of your passing. You were definitely one of a kind...in kindness, humour, and always met you with a hug. You are, and will be sorely missed.

I meet Matt at the Dawg on a "Larryoke" night back in 2018. I was new to the karaoke scene and Matt invited me to his table. Over the weeks and months and years, he was a constant fan and encouraged all the singers every Saturday Night. We regularily exchanged texts messages and Matt would contact me during his road trips in the USA. You will be missed buddy
