Obituary of Dennis Otto Liska
January 14 1930 - January 5 2026
Dennis Liska of London Ontario in his 95th year passed away peacefully at his north London home.
Dennis beloved son of Elizabeth and Michael born in Windsor Ontario Loving husband of predeceased wife Julia Marion and loving father of Karen Thompson and Brian Liska Step brother of predeceased Andrew Santor Brother-in-law of both predeceased Paul and Mary Kives, Steve and Margaret Banyai Uncle to Ron and Les, Diane and predeceased Barbara Godfather to Ron
Dennis was an active member of Trinity Lutheran church serving on the executive committee generously contributing to the various church programs
Dennis transitioned his career from being involved in the electrical industry to going back to school and getting his teachers college certificate after he had become a father with a family.
Having moved to Welland Ontario, Dennis toke a teaching position at Port Colborne secondary school
In 1965 the first vocational college was opened in London Ontario now Fanshawe College where Dennis applied and was accepted as one of the first instructors at the college.
His experience in the electrical contracting business was recognized for him to help establish the Electrical drafting program where he taught for the next 30 years.
Dennis was very talented and loved to work on various projects around the house as well as being a proficient gardener
He was also very active and participated in various sports which included bowling, curling and especially golf being member of Sunningdale Country Club in London
Dennis enjoyed traveling with Julia and his family taking many trips across Canada and the United States.
He especially enjoyed going south during the winter and after his retirement.
Dennis had a great appreciation for nature and contributed to many charities as well as being an avid photographer of animals and nature settings.
He did take many pictures of our family and several gatherings and had one of the early movie cameras in the 1950's which captured many precious moments.
Dennis was hard working and self made man who was both kind and generous but sometimes not always understood and appreciated because he was quite man of few words.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service for family and friends to celebrates his memorable life will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on February 1st at 1:00 PM, 476 Colborne Street, London ON.
