Obituary of Robert Francis Cline

Robert “Bob” Cline passed away peacefully at University Hospital on March 13, 2026, at the age of 88. Bob was born in Simcoe on May 13, 1937. He was the beloved son of the late Earl “Sam” Cline and Doris “Dode” Cline of Port Rowan. He was predeceased by his dear wife, Frances, and by his brother Thomas Cline of Simcoe. Bob built a long and respected career as a lawyer. He was a partner at the Sanders Cline law firm in St. Thomas until he was 80 years old. Though he practiced estate and family law, he specialized in mental health law for many years. Service to his country and community was an important part of Bob’s life. He proudly served in the Canadian militia with the First Hussars and retired with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1982. He also devoted much of his time to the Royal Canadian Legion in Delaware, where he was a member for over 50 years. Bob loved living on his property in Southwold and dearly missed it after moving to London in 2023 following the loss of his leg. He was an avid sports fan, watching baseball, hockey, and football games whenever possible. Bob will be sadly missed by his daughter, Barbara (Darin), and his first wife, Donna. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the Delaware Legion, 11577 Longwoods Rd. on Saturday, April 25th from 2-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #598 by cash or cheque.
