Obituary of Jo-Ann Helen Jamieson
After a courageous battle, Jo-Ann passed away surrounded by those she loved the most. She was 74 years young.
She is survived by her three children Angie Amodeo, Arnel Charette, and Renee Charette (Peter Chiacchia), her grandchildren Jamie-Lee Girard (Kevin), Gino Amodeo (Taylor), Olivia Amodeo (Mitch), Vivienne Chiacchia, and great grandchildren Stella and Odin. Dear sister of Kelly Jamieson (Susan), Alan Jamieson (late Diane), and Sandra Manfred. Jo-Ann was predeceased by her parents Hugh and Viola Jamieson, siblings Charlie Jamieson, Peggy Arndt-Jamieson, Billy Babando, and step-daughter Shelley Madden.
Never forgotten by her special extended family John Madden, Christine Madden, Mariah Mesic-Ricchetti, Faith Chiacchia, Kaylin Mesic, Paige Chiacchia, Daniella, Violet, and Summer. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Born in Timmins, ON, Jo-Ann was a “rebel without a cause” who loved everything country. Whether it was cowboy boots, leather fringes, Harley Davidsons or horses, she loved them all. Not only beautiful, Jo-Ann was born with a generous heart and exceptional creativity. She never passed up an opportunity to make someone smile by baking her famous butter tarts, pies, and amazing birthday cakes. But despite all of her talents, her greatest love and accomplishment was her three children who she adored more than life itself. Family was everything to Jo-Ann and spending time with her grandchildren was her greatest gift of all.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Breadner and the team at the Verspeeten Cancer Centre, Dr. Stack and his team and the Staff on the Acute Stroke Unit at London Health Sciences Centre.
In lieu of flowers a memorial donation in Jo-Ann’s honour can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
As per Jo-Ann’s wishes, there will be no service at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
