Obituary of David Nelson Whiteway

Passed peacefully at home in his 87th year. Survived by his daughter Raynette Tom, son Brian Whiteway, and daughter Janet Desilets (nee Whiteway), and siblings Marilyn Sparkes and Jim Whiteway. David will also be missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Albert and Jenny Whiteway, and siblings Jean, George, Fred, Herman, Christine and Mary. David spent 40 years with the Ironworkers Local 700 and served with the 2nd Royal Canadian Regiment (Paratroopers) at Wolsley Barracks in London. David was an avid golfer, having attended several Masters tournaments in Augusta over the years. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 27th, 2026 at 511 Gainsborough Road, London, Ontario (Lawson Room - West Entrance) from 1pm - 3pm. All are welcome. Light refreshments will be served. Interment will take place at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in St. John's, Newfoundland in September of 2026.
