Obituary of George Macrae MacNeil

George MacRae MacNeil DOB April 9 1943 born in Glasgow Scotland beloved son of Robert MacNeil and Margaret (MacRae) MacNeil passed peacefully in his sleep with his loving wife Grace (Rodgers) MacNeil by his side at the Dearness home in London ON on June 27 2026 after a valiant battle with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Grace MacNeil and 2 daughters Karen (Ron Newcombe) MacNeil and Kirstene (Chris)Warnell. He was the proud grandfather of Alix Warnell, Macrae Patrick Warnell and Varonika Rose Newcombe. Loving brother to Lillian (Alex)Lyon, Betty(Alex) Thomson, Robert (Anne)MacNeil Wilma(Malcolm) Livingstone and Margaret Rose(George) McCallum. George served his apprenticeship in the Navy as a Marine Engineer and his love of travel brought him to Canada in 1967 and he finished his career as a Millwright at Kellogg’s. George’s generosity, laughter and love for his family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. The family wants to say a huge thank you to the team at the Dearness Home. They gave George such wonderful care and love. A celebration of life will be held at the Lambeth Legion on Sunday August 9th from 1-4pm In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to support Alzheimer’s and Dementia research.
