It's still hard to believe that Betty is no longer with us...I've worked with Betty for almost 20 years, she was tough and funny, always got the job done. My kids remember her from our Christmas parties, year after year she was Santa's helper. Life is too short, rest in peace Betty.

There are not enough words to describe Main-Floor Grandma. She was caring, fun, supportive, loving, amazing and many, many more. Every time I went over to Grandmas house she always made sure we were having a blast together. Wether it was going to the park, getting freal milkshakes, going swimming or just simply sitting together and watching a movie, I always loved spending time with her. I remember at my school concerts always spotting her in the crowd seeing her with a big smile on her face and making sure that she was one of the loudest people to cheer at the end. I truly miss her with all my heart and I will keep her and all our memories with me forever. I love you Main-Floor Grandma.

I've had the pleasure of working with her over the last 15+ years that I've been at UWO. Dealing with parts and shipping can be a nightmare in most places, but not when Betty was at the helm. She always knew where to find things, always had the stuff we needed, or, knew precisely where to get it. It made all our jobs a lot easier. We could always make one another smile and chuckle at something, and that's a happy thought I have of her just about any time I see a package nowadays.

I've only known and worked with Betty for a few years but it feels like I've known her for longer. Betty knows how to make you feel comfortable and her presence was like a ray of sunshine. Betty's dedication to Western has always been admired and her friendly, kind and empathic nature will always be remembered. My sincere condolences to your family!
Rest In Peace, Betty.

I worked with Betty, since 2001 and I have many great memories with her over the years. The funniest one I can remember, is when I was at a Golf tournament at Forest City National Golf course in London, ON. Completely random, but my mom showed up there for lunch with some other friends and asked Betty (who was at the Registration desk) if she has even heard of her son, since he also worked at Western University. When she told Betty her name (Gerry Gilliland), she said "Yes", I know know Ken... just a moment I will find him. She opened the main entrance door and she sees me wearing an Orange golf shirt and yells out my name and says your mom if here!!! My mom mentioned that he never wears orange, so Betty continued to call for me until I stopped by and talked to my mom. Definitely, a bit embarrassing... but that is one of the reasons I enjoyed working with Betty... She would do anything for anyone. She will be greatly missed and I would like to express my condolences to the family.

I first met Betty 25 years ago. Her dedication and true devotion to family was evident. She'd go out of her way to help anyone and everyone in anyway she could. She never backed down from a challenge. If they said it couldn't be done. Betty found a way to do it.!! Betty was a true professional she took pride in her work and made the job look easy. Her family was most important to her, Dave, Nichole, Jamie, Savannah and Brooklyn, Christopher and Heather she loved you all unconditionally. She took great pride in all your accomplishments whether school, sports or you chosen careers. As you know Betty wasn't particularly fond of Flamingoes but took it in stride when presented with not one but 3 of these creatures for her Birthday's over the years. I still hear her laughter and her saying to me. I'll get even!! Rest in Peace Betty. You are truly missed.

We first met Betty 20 years ago and from that first moment she showed such integrity, transparency, energy, professionalism, humour and a true kindness for helping others. She was so welcoming to our family and nothing was ever to much for her to take on as a challenge. Yes, Betty, was always a lady in control but boy was she good at it. Everything she did taught a lesson or a skill. Her leadership skills shone in everything she did from cooking to building decks. I am sure through her past couple of challenging years she left educational values and skills with all who helped with her care. These moments will forever stay with them.
Yes, Betty, you were a Caring & Loving husband to Dave, an Amazing and Loving Mom to Nichole (Jamie) and Chris (Heather), and a Welcoming and Loving Mother in Law to our son Jamie (always keeping him on his toes for sure). You entrusted your 3 precious girls into his loving arms. You are one of the most Outstanding and Loving Main Floor Grammas we have had the privilege to know. Last but not least a True and Dedicated friend and coworker. You meant so many things to many people.
Kudos to your family for the care they were able to help you with and for all the visits you so looked forward to. Betty, you remained strong and faced every day with courage and determination to carry on. You LIVED every moment, LAUGHED every day, and LOVED beyond words. In your own time and when you decided you spread your wings and have soared high and will forever watch over your Precious Family. You were taken from us to soon my friend but we will hold in our hearts your beautiful smile, giggles and memories. We have been given a gift with your presence In our lives. Rest now my friend you deserve it.
Love Lynda and Jim McNabb
