Obituary of Elizabeth Anne Beatty

Beatty (Beavers), Elizabeth Anne 1952 – 2023 Passed away at her home on February 24 in her 71st year. Lovingly remembered by the father of her children, Richard Beatty; her children, Sarah Riedel (Larry) and Ross Beatty (Stephanie); her grandchildren, Lindsay, Logan, Cohen, and Clark; and her siblings, Linda (Paul), John (Debbie), and Timothy. Predeceased by her caring parents, Mervin (1986) and Verland (2018). Elizabeth was a spirited and adventurous woman who enjoyed living the rural life, making homes in Ontario, Alberta, and British Columbia. She was a natural storyteller and made easy conversation with family, friends, and neighbours alike. She felt pulled to nature and her green thumb meant she was always surrounded by plants of every variety. Her lived experiences of mental health gave her a deep empathy for individuals facing similar challenges. She was a strong advocate for people on the margins, serving as a social worker for almost 40 years at places such as Community Living, Mission Services, and Crest Support Services. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at The Spare Room at Fleetway, 720 Proudfoot Lane, on Sunday, April 30, 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm (remarks at 3:00 pm).
