Obituary of Cyril William Reashor
Cyril William Reashor passed peacefully at home in his sleep on Wednesday June 7, 2023, in his 80th year.
Left behind to grieve are his loving wife of 60 years, Becky Reashor (Penny), daughters Mary (Stephen) and Anna (Stephen). He was cherished Poppy to Tyler Brown, Stephanie Tingley, Wade Paul, Emma Paul and to his great grandchildren, Benjamin Brown, William Tingley and Gwen Brown.
He is survived by his sister-in-law Nellie Reashore and several nieces and nephews in Ontario and Cape Breton.
Cy was predeceased by his parents Russell and Mary Reashore, his siblings and their spouses, Les Reashore, Gerry (Evie) Higham, Kaye (Fred) Garnet , his in-laws Bill and Annabelle Penny, brother-in-law Billy Penny, sisters-in-laws Diane Forest, Rose Penny, Barb Penny, and his nephews Chuckie Higham and Sandy Nicholas.
He was especially proud of his connection with niece Doreen Simms, son-in-law Steve Brown and his cousin Lisa Marie Courtney.
One of his major life accomplishments was his 30 years of service to General Motors Diesel Division Canada, from where he retired in 2001.
His crowning glory was bringing home to London the 1980 Canadian Slow Pitch Softball Championship with his team Wacky Websters. Without a doubt, the team and the time they spent together were the time of his life.
