Obituary of Wanda Marguerite Budden

BUDDEN (Paine), WANDA Marguerite January 6th, 1949 to December 25th, 2023 Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice London in her 75th year. Beloved wife of the late Donald Edward Budden (d.2016). Loving mother of Michael (Yvonne), Bradley (Cicilia) and Patricia. Dedicated grandmother of Alanna, Christopher, Emily and Erik Budden. Daughter of the late William John Ormand and Violet Annie Pearl (Dodd) Paine. Sister of Glenn (d.2020) and Lynda Paine, Louise (Paine) and Richard Bolton, Marjorie (Paine) and Max Langford. In-laws Walter (d.2012) and Margaret (d.2002) Budden, Len and Audrey (d.2020) Budden, Harriett Isabel Goodhue (d.2021), Margaret and Allen (d.2018) Budden. Remembered by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Wanda was born and raised in Strathroy, Ontario. Shortly after getting married in 1968, she moved with her new husband to Glanworth where they opened a service garage which they both worked at for several years together. She was constantly involved in community events and volunteer positions. Wanda also took on the responsibility of being the local postmaster for several years in addition to helping in the family businesses. Later in life, Wanda and her husband moved to St. Thomas where they lived until her husband’s death in 2016. Now retired, Wanda moved back to her hometown of Strathroy where she found a thriving community of retirees at Jaslo Properties. Wanda was a thriving member of that retirement community until Cancer forced her to give up many of the crafts she enjoyed with her friends. Friends and family can gather at Zion Hill/ 7th Line Cemetery, Thamesford at 10:30 AM January 6th, 2024. Followed by an informal celebration of life from 2-5 PM at Collins Place, Community Room 350 Ellor St. Strathroy.
