Obituary of Bryan Ryder

Daddy RYDER, Bryan Stillman Peacefully passed away at LHSC with his loving wife and daughters by his side, on June 2nd, 2024, in his 75th year. Beloved husband to Julie Ryder (Poole) of 44 years. A family man and devoted father to Lindsay Wakeam, Lauren Ryder (Mike) and Carly McLean (Colin). Special father-in-law to Steve Wakeam. Fun-loving Grampie to Spencer, Dylan, Owen, Luke & Anysse. Loving brother-in-law to Jamie Broadbear (Roy) and Greg Johnson. Predeceased by his parents Stillman and Joan Ryder, and his sister Dianna Johnson of Moncton, New Brunswick. Bryan will always be remembered for being present in all the lives of his cousins, nieces, nephews and neighbours. Bryan devoted his life to his girls. He attended all practices, games and tournaments as their biggest fan. An enthusiastic flag man at soccer games, or for the early morning figure skating practices, he was always there. Bryan “Casanova” Ryder never failed to sweep Julie off her feet. Fresh flowers and constant “I love you’s” were a common gesture at home. Family was everything to him. Season ticket holder of 47 years for Western Mustang football, Bryan created a family tradition that will continue to carry on. Bryan was a successful salesman for 42 years at Dye & Durham. The favourite part of his career was meeting new people and making long lasting friendships with his clients and colleagues. He was respected and cherished by all. Bryan was a bright spirit who brought joy and laughter to any situation. In times of sadness, he was known to crack a joke, even during his final moments. His smile and laugh will live in our hearts forever. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses in the Verspeeten Cancer Clinic. Bryan had a special place in his heart for Sari, his nurse practitioner. The continued care on the 6th and 7th floor was exceptional and Bryan was so appreciative of this in his final days. As per his wishes, there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place. Condolences can be made through www.londoncremation.com Please join us to raise a glass and toast to a wonderful man at the Ryder residence on Saturday, July 6th from 2pm - 7pm. Forever loved and missed by his girls.
