I had the absolute pleasure of working with Bruce for many years on Lake Erie and we became good friends. We both left the Lake around 2006 I ventured off to India were Bruce actually joined me for 1 trip, he eventually ended up in Gulf of Mexico with Oceaneering for a few years.
Later on we were out and about on our Harley's when I said he should give Gord Hay a shout up at CWDI and join the school as an instructor and he spent a few summers up at the "College of Ratdog knowledge" instructing these Lads in beautiful Buckhorn Ontario were he was always a welcome site to all. One summer I rode my Harley up to Bruce's in London and the next morning we rode off for Buckhorn for a visit. We stopped over at Gail & Charlie's for a Bar-B-Q and we Bunked down in the Trailer after perhaps a couple of cold ones
We made it to Gord & Caroline's the next afternoon a good time was had by all. The morning of departure was calling for heavy rain all day, we were offered to stay another night but, we both had commitments back home. No sooner had we left their driveway the rain began to fall we looked at each other and just rolled our eyes. Crossing the bridge in Buckhorn the rain was Teaming down and we saw out the corner of our eyes 2 Anglers heading out in their fishing boat I looked over at Bruce and pointed at them!
With water running off his nose & face and struggling to see he smiled and said "Fools" in this weather!!
We had gathered for many rounds of Golf over the years as well.
Many, many great memories!!
I will miss you my brother and will cherish all the memories of the good times we shared.
RIP my good man !
Ross, Gail & Family
My sincere condolences

I am shocked to hear of Bruce's premature passing. We were classmates at King City Secondary and I recall him as "one of the good guys"!
Please accept my sincere condolences, and regrets that we crossed paths so infrequently in our ensuing years....
Rest in Peace Bruce.

Dear Gail, Ross and Charles, my sincere condolences on Bruce's passing. I did not know him that well, but he was a McPhee, and that alone made him a very special person. Please pass my thoughts on to his family and stay well yourselves.

To me he'll always be Uncle Bruce. Smart, funny, kind, and fair. I have many great memories of him crushing sudokus, bringing top notch food to the potlucks, cracking light hearted jokes at our expense, and encouraging us while we started Skookum's most insane hollow log fires. We'll miss you Uncle Bruce.

I was fortunate enough to have Bruce as my instructor while in dive school back in 2016. Great instructor, great person and I loved hearing his stories. May he rest in peace and my condolences to his family.

I was lucky enough to spend 3 years working with Bruce at CWDI, we were bunk mates, instructors and friends. Bruce was a wealth of knowledge, and a great mentor. Outside of work we spent time golfing and fishing in Chapleau, and enjoyed beverages around the fire talking about ways to take over the world. I’m sad to see Bruce go but I will cherish the time I spent with him and all the things I learned.
RIP Brucer

So sorry to hear about Bruce. My favorite memories of Bruce are when he played hockey with us. Always a fun guy and great to have on the team.

Dear McPhee family. Ross thank you so much for your phone call. Gail, Charles, Todd.
Certainly I wish it was other news, better news anything but sad news. I am a big fan of the McPhee's and especially your late father Dr. Jim McPhee - who bragged about all of you all, and grand kids and great grand kids.
Looking at Bruce's picture man does he look like Jim.
Please accept my condolences on the passing of Bruce.
I will be there on October 17-th to say so in person.
Most sincerely your friend Gary Miner (Barrie)

I am so saddened to hear of your loss of Bruce. I knew him as a cousin and we spent many times together in our childhood in King City and at our grandparents farm. In later years we have connected briefly at times and always I found him to be a loving and caring and special man. It was always a delight when we could connect and be together. I pray for blessings of love and peace to you all as his loss settles in your souls. Sue Tackabery Hoffman Moore

We have many happy memories with Bruce and Ross from our time living in King City. Then after many years Grace and I went on a fishing trip to Chapleau. It was an incredible surprise to find Bruce there at the diving School. We had a fun week reminiscing. We have had many conversations over the past three years and will miss our friend.

Dustin and Laura, please accept our most sincere condolences on the passing of your Dad. We met him and your Mom through mutual friends and enjoyed fun evenings together. A few years later our paths crossed again. Bruce was our son’s instructor in dive school and with your Dad’s caring instruction and leadership our son went on to enjoy diving professionally.
Your Dad will certainly create a void in your lives and our hope is that as time goes on your happy memories will outweigh your grief.
Sincerely,
Grace and Scott Hebb
