Obituary of Darren Jon Gorrie

Darren Jon Gorrie. After a courageous battle with cancer at home, with his loving wife, Linda, at his side, London, ON, on March 8, 2020 at the age of 54. Predeceased by father, Ronald. A devoted son he is survived by his mother Della. Cherished father of sons Jonathan (Beth) and Matthew, stepson Justin Mallett (Taylor) and stepdaughter Stephanie Mallett (Coltin). A loving grandfather of Abby, Isabelle, Benjamin, Taitin, Hailey, Noah, Millie and Hayden. Beloved by his brother Doug (Charlene) and his sister Susan (Dave). A wonderful uncle to his niece and nephews. Darren was a long time employee of General Motors/General Dynamics in London. Darren will be missed by his many friends, including his hockey buddies, particularly the Leaf fans who Darren mercilessly teased after his revered Chicago Black Hawks won three Stanley Cups in five years while the Maple Leafs wallow away since 1967. A celebration of Darren’s life will be held on Saturday March 14, 2020 from 2 - 5 pm at Carling Heights Optimist Community Centre, 656 Elizabeth Street, London, ON. All those attending are encouraged to wear their hockey jerseys — even Leaf fans. Donations are welcomed to www.bladdercancercanada.org in the memory of Darren Gorrie.
