Obituary of Ethan Jose Chappell Fonseca

Ethan Jose Chappell Fonseca passed peacefully at 8:46 am on Friday, April 3rd, 2020, in the PCCU, at Victoria Hospital Campus LHSC, with his Mom (Christine) and Dad (Joe) by his side. Adored Grandson of Susan Heimbecker Chappell, Earl and Debbie Chappell, and the late Isidro and Lucilia da Fonseca. Ethan will be deeply missed by everyone on the E-Team, especially his core care team of Nurses, Care workers and EAs: Nurse Angie, Nurse Selina, Kathy Schmidt, Cathy Timmers-McLeod, Nurse Luc, Nurse Susan, Donna Paris, Jill, Marie, Beth, Cam, Brenda Wilton, Tracey Cooper, and Nurse Ellie. We would like to thank his recent night nurses: Jessa, Imrana, Varun, Mincy, Carey, Denise, and Emma. Treasured nephew of Ryan Chappell, Carson Chappell and Kerry Fath Vella, Jennette and Craig Zimmer, Ilda and Len Williamson, Alda and Greg Finn, Danielle Judge and Kelly Smith, as well as Maria and John Highfield. He is loved and missed by his cousins Leslie and Cliff Kondra, Stephanie Highfield, Laurie and Steven Groh, Kara Highfield, Matt Highfield, Jessica (Andrew Mitchell) and Graham Williamson (Chloe Williams), Nicholas and Andrew Finn, Ashlyn and Madelyn Zimmer, Kennedie Vella, Corbin Chappell, Emily and Devon Judge, and his birthday buddy, Great Auntie Barb. Ethan will be greatly missed by many other family members and friends. We are thankful for the wonderful support over the many years of his dearly loved Aunties in Laureate Gamma Epsilon, of Beta Sigma Phi. Ethan will also be missed by many other E-Team members: VON nurses, EAs and care workers, teachers and staff from Temple Tots Daycare (London), Our Lady of Lourdes (Delaware) and Saint André Bessette (London), TVCC staff, Doctors and Nurses, bus drivers and monitors who have helped along the way. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the PCCU Team at LHSC for the amazing care of Ethan the last 33 days of his life. Ethan’s quality of life was as good as it was because of the AMAZING E-Team....Many thanks for “Chillin’ on the E-Team”.... A Celebration of Life will occur at a later date, when possible. Online masses included intentions for Ethan at St. George Catholic Church (SGTV London on YouTube April 3, 4, 5th). Memorial donations, in Ethan’s name, may be made to Easter Seals, Salthaven.org, or TVCC (Thames Valley Children’s Centre). Ethan, we will miss your smiling face, your resilient spirit, and your gentle soul. You fought from the beginning to the end. We love you.
