Obituary of Stanley Gordon Lee

STANLEY GORDON LEE 1917 - 2020 In his 103rd year, Stanley Gordon Lee passed away peacefully on September 27th, 2020 at Parkwood Veterans Hospital in London, Ontario. Devoted husband to the late Dorothy Eatwell, he was predeceased by his mother, Martha Lee, sister, Mildred Maxwell and brother Harvey Lee. Loving father to Susan (Stephen) Schomburg and Carole (George) Jenney. Doting grandfather to Todd (Kasia), Josef, Angelique (Bob), and Mikal Sr. (Kyoungsoo). Adored great-grandfather of Mikal (Sam), Taige (Ashley), Noah, Alex, and Tess. A proud native of Simcoe, Ontario, Stan played, and later, coached competitive softball, receiving accolades for his pitching and awards for his batting skills. He served in the Canadian Air Force in Europe during World War ll, and upon his return from overseas, he and fellow veterans co-operated to build their own homes in a VLA subdivision. As well as being a certified plumber and electrician, with a career in Corrections Canada, he loved any building project & always arrived with enthusiasm and a trunk filled with tools. In retirement, he and Dorothy enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the world, working in their garden & spending time with Family. And, of course, cheering on their beloved Maple Leafs and Blue Jays. Special thanks to the caring & incredible Nursing Staff at Parkwood, who made Stan a big part of their Family for the past 4 years & who all stopped by to give him a final hug & to say goodbye. A celebration of Stan's long & well-lived Life will be held at a later date - he always loved a good party.
