You chose a wonderfully fitting photo of Leo; he was warm, welcoming, and ready to smile! We wish his family comfort in this very difficult time, and hope that you can gather together soon to remember Leo and share some of your favourite memories.

Fred, please accept my condolences on the loss of your father. Another pioneer of Dryden gone.
I have good memories of you from your days in Dryden - going to school with you. From reading the obituary of your father I am reminded how you shared his friendly and cheery youthful enthusiasm for life.
Stay well, Greg Wilson

When I saw Leo at church he always made me feel special with a nice hug, a kind word and hearty laugh. I was honoured to attend his birthday party at daughter Heidi's home and he kept the party lively for sure. Leo and Helga were very gracious hosts when I was fortunate to be invited for lunch one day! I will miss him very much.

A small story about Leo and his generous spirit - When I met Leo in I was nervous. I learned a short phrase in German, "Ich will du einladen zu mein haus". I wanted to make a good impression. Leo laughed at my broken accent with that sly Leo smile. Over the years Leo and Helga moved a lot. Each time Heidi and I got the grand tour, he would take me aside and repeat that phrase to me, with that same smile. It was our little game. I am forever grateful to Leo. Most of all when helped Heidi and I buy our first home. Never has there been more pride than when we invited him into the modest house on Apeldoorn for the first time. As I thanked him, and repeated our phrase, he told me he was always happy to take care of his little girl. Rest in Peace Leo. My condolences to the entire family.
