Dear Nicolas, I am so very sad to have read that your Beautiful Mom passed away in January. I was fortunate to have worked in London with Centalyn, firstly, in the early ‘90’s at RBC’s Wel/Com branch, then again many years later at the RNC branch. Your Mom was so many things….kind, caring, and thoughtful…funny, honest and resolute in the things she stood for. I remember how happy and proud she was, to have such a sweet baby boy, and that boy grew up to be such a handsome, extraordinary and accomplished young man. She always had a current picture of you, at her wicket, or on her phone, and oh, how she loved to share it. I will never forget how excited she was to get her drivers license. That was cause for a celebration at her place in Old North. Nicolas, your Mom made this world a better place, by just being “Centalyn “. Remember how Special You are, because you are her Son. Centalyn….. she loved telling the story about how her parents came up with her name. I can see her big grin as She always smiled while telling this story to everyone. We all knew where Centalyn would be on Friday afternoons. She would sneak off at lunch in her little blue car to get her little ceasars pizza. We knew she was back cause we could smell the pizza :) She was also very passionate about her little black book of scams. She was very invested in solving mysteries. Her favourite thing was to catch a fraudster or to save a client from being a victim. She was so caring! Centalyn was also very spiritual. She kept a crystal in her desk to protect her. Centalyn had given me one and together we were protected :) Centalyn’s lifelong passion though was her biggest accomplishment. That was her son Nicholas. I remember her planning the trip to Kingston to go see Nicholas graduate. It was all she could think about and talk about. I remember her showing me that very picture that’s posted in these memories. Hugs Miss Centalyn! I will miss you and when I see a cardinal I will think of you.

With such an unusual name, it was difficult to forget Centalyn. But not only her name was special. She was such a lovely and uplifitng person to deal with at RBC that even though I didn't know a thing about her, I enjoyed being welcomed and assisted by her when I visited the branch. What a lasting effect she had on people, even those such as me who barely knew her. My sincere condolences to her family. Susan Dean

I spent many years going to school with Centalyn, words can’t express the kind hearted woman that she was. I would say she always wanted the best for everyone and this made her happy. Heaven received one of the best angel’s we had here on earth. I want to send my deepest condolences to her family, she will be forever in my heart.

Centalyn and I were great friends in high school, cheer leaders together and roommates after high school. Some of my most cherished memories from that time involve her. She was the leader of the group and always looked fabulous. Wishing her family all the best during this difficult time.

I was sorry to learn of Centalyn's passing. She was one of my favourite tellers at the RBC branches where she worked - and where I was a client. She was so friendly and helpful, and always took a personal interest in her clients. I also remember her smile, her stylish clothing, and her eyeglasses which suited her perfectly!! Although I hadn't seen Centalyn in a number of years, I remember her clearly as she made a lasting impression upon me. My sincere condolences to her son, her family members, and her RBC colleagues. She has left us far too soon.

As a colleague, Centalyn was always pragmatic in her advice on any given situation. A champion for her clients, someone who would fight to the end for them. As a friend, I loved to listen to her talk about her son Nicholas who she had the utmost pride and love for. The last big trip she took was such a highlight as well as her smile was ear to ear and contagious. Over the last few days I have received calls/emails from her peers at RBC about the impact that she made on them personally or clients that have shared that with them. Your impact on people will not be forgotten Centalyn.

Centalyn was one of the most generous and caring friends. Sometimes you grow closer to the people at work than you do your own family. And over the years Centalyn was a true friend. She had the biggest heart! She loved life and all the good things about it. She loved to cook and travel and she adored dogs. But one thing I will remember the most was her complete admiration, pride and pure love for her son Nicholas. He was her Number One! I wish him strength during this difficult time.
