Obituary of John Paul Symonds

John Paul Symonds 1954 – 2023 It is with great sadness that we announce John’s passing, surrounded by his family, on Friday, March 17, 2023. John grew up in Sarnia, Ontario. He joined the RCMP in 1975 and was stationed in Manitoba before moving back to Sarnia to open a Marvellous Mmmuffins store. John had a multifaceted career, most recently working for Labatt Brewery in London, Ontario. Beloved husband of Karin (O’Brien) Symonds and brother of Dianna Symonds. Especially missed by his children: Jill Symonds (Izzy), Leslie Symonds (Patrick), Allison Abbott (Brad), Lauren Barnett (Mike), Michael Barnett (Megan), and Mark Barnett (Amanda), and by his grandchildren: Skyla, Otis, Kian, Margot, Olive, Sadie and Toren. He will be very much missed by Peter and CJ as well as many close family members, numerous friends and neighbours. Our thanks to Dr. Scott Ernst and Dr. Maria Parent from the London Regional Cancer Program, Dr. Jim MacLean, and the Home and Community Care Support Services. A memorial service will be held at First St. Andrew’s United Church, 350 Queens Avenue, London, Ontario, on Saturday, March 25th at 10:00 a.m. Our family invites you to join them in celebrating John’s life.
