Obituary of Richard Walker

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Richard Walker on July 3, 2024, in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Marni Walker. Cherished father of Sarah Walker and Allie Walker (Nick). Loving grandfather to Jordan, Noah, Caleb, Levi, and Ivy. Brother to Randy Walker (Cathy), Jeff Walker, and Robin Walker. Predeceased by his mother Beatrice Walker, his father George Walker, and his sister Sue Coulson (Bill). Richard was more than just a husband, father, and grandfather. He was the family's rock, providing stability and security that will never be forgotten. Richard graduated with a Master of Social Work from Carleton University in 1984 and went on to build a remarkable career in the field of mental health spanning over four decades. Guided by his passion for helping others, he worked tirelessly to provide care and compassion to those in need. His dedication to his work was unwavering. Outside of his professional life, Richard had a deep love for learning and academia. He was always eager to expand his knowledge and skills, often teaching himself new instruments or delving into various subjects. His love for music led him to play the piano with great passion, often regaling family and friends with impromptu performances of "Colour My World." Richard's greatest gift was his wicked sense of humor. He had a quick wit and could always be counted on to make us laugh, even on our toughest days. A private cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
